Hi classmates!
My name is Niragira Alex. I am originally from
Burundi. It is a small country with a shape like a heart of a human being. The
country is located in East Africa between Rwanda, Congo and Tanzania. Due to a
civil war that broke out in Burundi, I left behind everything we had and
fled to Congo. After a couple of years in Congo a civil war broke out and once
again I left behind everything and ended up in the refugee camp an isolated and
barren area in Tanzania in Africa. I lived in the refugee camp for 13
years before I came to the United States with my wife and three children. My
wife and children are now citizens after five years we have been in America. I
am interested in learning languages because it is a tool of interaction with
communities. I can speak French, Swahili, Kirundi and English. The reason I am
taking English 213, It is a part of my major (Linguistics). Finally, I hope
this semester will be exciting one.
Hey, I think we have tthings in common, Languages wow I studied French for one year, but then I came to the USA to learn English and I forgot my French.
ReplyDeleteHey Niragira! I totally love you name! You seem to have had a rough life. I'm really glad you and your family are safe and sound here in America! I think you bring something really great to the class.
ReplyDeleteHi Niragira! We have a few things in common. I also came to the United States from some issues back in my country and it was hard to adapt. I am also taking ENG 213 because it is part of my major for linguistics also :)
